Website Design: Circle of Stone

David Reed, owner and designer at Circle of Stone, has been creating handcrafted stonework across Western North Carolina for over 30 years. After relocating to Brevard, NC, David wanted to update his website and give it a more modern and visual feel, and have it be responsive across different devices.

GOAL: To provide an online platform where Circle of Stone could showcase the variety and quality of stonework that they offer, as well as highlight David Reed’s book, The Complete Guide to Stonescaping.

RESULT: David’s work speaks for itself, so we went with a design that is very visual and used full-width images to really bring the user into his work. By using varying shades of grey, it gives the feeling of stone, while letting the images “pop” on the screen. Overall, the goal of the website was to provide the user with visual experience in the possibilities of stone and the landscape. And then, to make the process of contacting Circle of Stone as easy as possible, whether on a desktop or mobile device.
